The refillable Dries Van Noten Eau de Parfum bottle has been recognized in the Women’s fragrances category at the PCD innovation awards. Both PUIG, the client, and Stoelzle, the glass supplier, received the award and all suppliers involved in the project were congratulated.
The eye-catching glass bottle is manufactured at Stoelzle Masnières Parfumerie and comprised of ten shells on the bottom of the bottle, four materials (porcelain, plastic, wood, metal) and two types of lacquering (eight classic and two Quali Glass Coat 2.0, an exclusive STO ecological powder coating).
The first of its kind for Stoelzle, the innovative features entail a development of ten products at once; a complete product line, multi-material, with the need to adapt the gluing process to take into account the dimensional differences, between the shell and the bottle, depending the material. Each of the ten bottles requires a varied bonding system, culminating to a first for the company in combining so many materials at once.
Creative director of the brand that carries his name, Dries Van Noten, was inspired by his passion for flowers and gardening when coming up with a concept for the bottles. The inspiration led to teaming up with eleven leading international perfumers that interpreted different aspects of the brand’s uniqueness. Since the launch of the eaux de parfum and lipsticks, a whole collection of fashion and accessories has been developed to match the ten existing bottles.
