“As a member of the U.S. manufacturing community for over 50 years, and as a leader in the type of advanced manufacturing that is vital to the U.S. economy, we were honored to witness first-hand this historic event,” said Robert Gomeau, Duryea Plant Manager, SCHOTT North America.
The White House visit underscored the administration’s growing interest in the development of advanced, technical manufacturing in the U.S. economy. Vice President Mike Pence visited the Duryea manufacturing site in October of 2019, where he spoke about the significance of the site’s 50th anniversary of manufacturing in the United States and the need for ratification of the USMCA.
The SCHOTT team that attended included, Robert Gomeau, Plant Manager; David Alunni, Director, Development and Applications; Dr. William James III, Director, Research & Development; Stephen Sokach, Director, Sales The Americas; Regina Lane, Controller; and Kevin McFarland, Director, Human Resources & Talent Acquisition.
SCHOTT North America has 10 production sites, two sales offices, and over 2,000 employees in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. In the 2018/19 fiscal year, sales of over $557 million were reported out of North America.
