Design, execute and support ongoing projects in the general area of network integration and connectivity. Specific projects may include Radio over Optical Fiber, Power over Optical Fiber, Sensor Networks and Optical Connectivity.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
Design, execute and support ongoing projects in the general area of Radio-over-Fiber and Optical Connectivity. Position requires hands on lab work in addition to optical design and the technical integration of optical, electrical, software, and mechanical aspects of the day-to-day responsibilities.
Travel Requirements (please note if international):
Approximately 1-2 % travel.
Hours of work/work schedule/flextime:
Regular schedule/40 hours per week.
Anforderungen
BS preferred. Minimum AAS in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, optical design with 5 years R&D experience.
Required Years Experience:
Minimum 5 years R&D experience for non-bachelors degree candidate. 0 years required for BS candidate.
Required Skills:
Knowledge of fiber-optic communication and components
Support research in Nonlinear Optics and semiconductor lasers
Design and simulation of optical and nonlinear optical devices.
Characterization of VCSEL dynamics
Support the development of new measurement techniques.
Detailed understanding of fiber optic component performance and specification.
Integration of fiber optics, active devices, and electronics in functional packaging.
Prototyping of fiber optic assemblies.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Desired Skills:
Experience in design and measurement of RoF systems
Experience with MATLAB and/or LabVIEW
Electronics design
High-speed signal processing
Demonstrated ability to live Corning’s values.
Experience working in cross-functional and international teams.
Soft Skills:
